Why You Need Pinterest For Your Business
As a busy business owner, you are probably a little overwhelmed just thinking about adding another marketing platform into your already busy schedule. There are multiple reasons why Pinterest is such a fantastic platform and why your business needs to be on Pinterest, too. As a Pinterest Manager, I’ve seen first-hand the powerful results that Pinterest can offer entrepreneurs like you. It’s just a matter of using the right strategy for your business and knowing how Pinterest does (or doesn’t) work.
In this post, we will dive into what you need to know about using Pinterest for your business and how to use Pinterest the right way.
The Benefits of Using Pinterest for Your Business:
There are so many benefits to using Pinterest and it truly is one of the best organic traffic platforms out there. It’s important to note that Pinterest is not a social media platform but actually a visual search engine. This does mean that it is a long-term strategy and you won’t see full results right away. On average it takes about 3-6 months of consistency, optimization, and strategy, to see the results and reach you’d like.
It is so worth the initial investment of time because once you get results, you will see results long-term.
5 things you can achieve with Pinterest:
Reach a new audience of your ideal people.
Increase traffic to your website, blog, podcast, store or sales pages.
Increase reach and exposure for brand awareness and showcasing products.
Grow your email list and fill your sales funnel with warm leads.
How to Harness Pinterest for Business:
As I mentioned, the three most important things for using Pinterest successfully are: optimization, consistency, and a strong strategy.
Optimization:
As a search engine, optimization is vital. You have to optimize your account in key areas, your boards, and your pin descriptions & designs so that they can be indexed and found by the right audience. In order to successfully optimize your account profile and pins, you need to do keyword research within Pinterest itself.
Consistency:
With Pinterest being a search engine, consistency is important. You need to make sure to pin consistently and have patience to see results. You have to stay current on your strategy, create fresh content and fresh pin designs on a regular basis. The days of repin, repin, repin are gone… the algorithm LOVES fresh content and fresh pins!
Strategy:
The right strategy is half the battle. You have to create a plan for how you want your pins and account to rank, what keywords you’re going to focus on, how often you are going to post content, etc.
With Pinterest or any search engine, you have to do the research to understand your target customers or ideal audience to know what they would be searching for.
A lot of people know how to get traffic from Facebook or Twitter, but Pinterest is being used more and more for organic search. It can be tremendous in driving traffic back to your site.
Pinterest, Is It Right For Every Business?
The easy answer is no, but almost every business can benefit from it. The audience on Pinterest is huge, it’s not just about recipes or craft projects! The only business I wouldn’t recommend spending too much time on Pinterest is businesses that are strictly 100% local and that don’t have content to Pin from their own site. However, if you operate online, even partially, you can use Pinterest successfully to grow your business.
This includes coaches, consultants, course creators, bloggers, e-commerce stores, and everyone in between.
